Abstract
The Muslim Law Students Association of Osgoode presents a panel discussion that includes Professor Faisal Kutty, Professor Katherine Bullock, and Imam Yasin Dwyer to discuss counter-radicalization in Canada. This panel discussion seeks to contextualize and critically examine the consequences of the issues surrounding extremists groups, such as ISIL. The rise of ISIL’s control in the Middle East has left the international community grappling with how to effectively tackle and dismantle this group. This panel critically examines the political and social consequences of current policies, and presents pragmatic alternatives to address this issue from a political, social, and religious perspective.
