Professor Kimberlé Crenshaw to receive honorary doctorate at Spring Convocation

Abstract
Dean (Interim) Mary Condon made the following announcement to the Osgoode Community on May 24, 2019:
“I am delighted to announce that the recipient of this year’s honorary doctorate to be awarded at the June Convocation ceremony is Professor Kimberlé Crenshaw. Professor Crenshaw is Professor of Law at UCLA Law and Columbia Law School and a leading scholar and thought leader in the areas of civil rights, black feminist legal theory, and race, racism and the law. Her work has been foundational in two fields of study that have come to be known by terms that she coined: Critical Race Theory and Intersectionality. I look forward to seeing everyone at Convocation on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 2:30 p.m.”
