Abstract
Professor Kimberly Krawiec of Duke Law School illustrates egg donation’s uncertain status as neither fully gift exchange nor fully marketplace through an analysis of two cases of first impression in the United States, highlighting the tensions that arise from attempts to reconcile egg donation’s reality as a robust commercial industry with the non-market norms that traditionally underlie reproduction.
