2011 - If I Had A Hammer
Madam Justice Andromache Karakatsanis ‘80 is appointed to the Supreme Court of Canada. The Anti-Discrimination Intensive Program is launched under the academic direction of Professor Bruce Ryder. The Law in Action Within Schools (LAWS) program is created. Over one thousand guests come to Osgoode to celebrate the renovation of the Osgoode building. Here, Dean Lorne Sossin, Didi Kaneff, Jack Diamond (Architect), the Hon. Jim Flaherty ‘73 (Federal Minister of Finance), Ignat Kaneff, York President Mamdouh Shoukri, and Greg Sorbara ‘81 (Ontario Minister of Finance) cut the ribbon at the official opening of the Ignat Kaneff Building.

2009 - The Last Court of Resort
The Innocence Project helps secure the release of Romeo Phillion, after 31 years of wrongful incarceration. The Hennick Centre for Business and Law opens. The professional LLM program in International Business Law is established. The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree designation is changed to a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Osgoode begins a major renovation of the building and a new wing is added. Architect Jack Diamond’s designs introduce natural light to classrooms, lecture theatres, and social spaces. Here, students help kick off construction.

2008 - Back on Top
Osgoode is ranked the #1 law school in Canada by Macleans magazine. The Collaborative Urban Research Laboratory (CURL) celebrates its two year anniversary. IP Osgoode, the innovative Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Technology program, is founded by Professor Giuseppina D’Agostino ‘99.
